So Davey for some reason decided that for his birthday he wanted to learn how to fish. To be honest, I do not know where this idea came from. So during the past few weeks, if I ask him if he wants to stop anywhere or go home, its typically home, unless the other choice is Cabela's. We go in and he just wants to look at fishing gear. The other sport he is very much into learning is Ice Hockey. Again, I don't quite understand this, since we watch many different sports with him, why hockey stuck.... who knows. So for Davey's 4th birthday he received a new fishing pole, a new tackle box, a fishing net, and a little set of hooks, bobbers (that hide the hook when not in the water), bait, and weights. He has been super excited to go fishing :) So today Joggle and I geared up and walked down the street to do a little fishing. I was quite skeptical that we would catch anything out of our little ponds. But sure enough, Davey caught 3 fish... well technically 2, but the 3rd was up on the shore when the fish took the hook and took off.
I was so proud of Davey, he ended up fishing for around an hour and a half... pretty good for a 4 year old.
Looks like mommy and daddy need to cut a check to ODNR for $38 for our fishing licenses and get us a few rods :) I love our little outdoor Hippie Monkey!
