5 Weeks, 4 days

Hello everyone and happy Monday. Baby Davey is doing great. He has been quite busy the last few weeks since our last blog post. I can sum it up in one sentence (feed, sleep, poop) but that's not fun. Davey had a follow up doctor appt. last week on his 5 week, and he was pushing 10 lbs now (he was 10 with clothes on). He is growing fast too. I can mainly tell when I look how his diapers fit. He also is starting to look less like a baby and more like his own person. Last week he got a new play mat that mommy picked out for him. He seems to love the mat, and likes the mirror a lot according to mommy. I have to admit, looking at his cute face is pretty awesome, so I am sure he just wants to see what we love to see. It is amazing how much more aware he is of his surroundings. I see him staring at his pennants in his room when I hold him. He seems to like the Sooners one the best. When I hold him facing me he will actually look at my face now too, which is awesome. The nice thing is he doesn't have rubber mushy neck anymore so you can actually hold him up. His favorite thing to calm him down when he is crying is to do the flying baby (where i hold him up like he is flying). Since his neck is strong he seems to love it, it always calms him down. As far as his limbs go... the legs are ready to go, they are kicking with force and are moving the little wiggle worm around. Last night on the couch he actually lifted his top half off of me with his arms (a baby push up). Which was neat to see. I think he is realizing that his arms can be used for other things besides flaling recklessly in the air, or to suck on when he is hungry :) Davey has had a lot of visitors and has made his first out of town trip this past weekend as well. I am planning on posting pictures of all the visitors Davey has seen since his birth. I think I can speak for Crystal when I say we are in mad love with this kid, even when he is fussy. Speaking of that, he let mommy sleep for 5.5 hrs the other morning! woohoo. Although last night he was in fussy form again. Crystal has been amazing with the little man. He is a very happy baby, and it seems like she is doing everything right with the kiddo. I know I've said it before, but I continue to be more amazed by Crystal every day. Davey's buddys Rocco and Miss Willow seem to like having Davey around. When they bark he sleeps and when he cries they sleep. Willow has given Davey a good amount of kisses too, and its all tail wags when Rocco or Willow get around him. Pics to come! Take care!
