FIVE MONTHS... Already halfway thru pregnancy!

We are 20 weeks now... and according to my trusty friend "What to Expect When You're Expecting" that means we are halfway through the pregnancy. Personally, I can't believe that. Nine months sounds like a long time, but right now it doesn't feel that long at all. Now that the 1st trimester symptoms are gone, I am LOVING being pregnant with this wiggly little boy. This morning when I woke up he was practicing his Mary Lou Retton routine. I put on this prenatal monitor thing, which David bought for me on clearance at Target... $10 and now we can hear our son... worth every penny! With the monitor, I could hear his little fast heartbeat and could hear him wiggling around in there.
So you saw the videos and pictures from our last doctor's appointment, when we learned ITS A BOY! And by the way, I have to say how happy David and I are that we're going to have a son. I keep hoping he's the spitting image of David, minus the banana hatred. We've already named him David James Mazza III. I've been calling him baby Davey. Being the math wiz my hubby is, he's been calling him 'Cubed'. While the doctor was evaluating him through the ultrasound, he was telling us everything he saw and thought about him. He says he sees fluid in his belly, which he said is a great thing. It means he is swallowing and his kidneys are functioning well. The doctor measured baby Davey's head and said he looks like he's going to an East Coast university to be a liberal arts major. haha David and I were happy to hear that... any college is fine as long as it isn't that school in Austin.  :)  haha just kidding for all our UT grad friends!  Also, two weeks ago when the doctor measured him, he weighed 10 ounces, which is just right. I'm guessing now he's probably inching closer to that one pound marker. I hope so! Speaking of WEIGHING MORE.... how about me! haha  It is totally obvious now that I am preggo! The belly is popping out now.
As for cravings... they've been pretty tame lately. No ice cream and pickle cravings. My regular cravings include red meat, milk, and eggs.  The one food I used to love that now sounds disgusting is chicken. Oh and I crave margaritas too. Not the tequila, I just crave the cold sour and salty yumminess of margarita. mmmm sounds heavenly. Anyone have a recipe for a virgin margarita?
I guess that's the latest update for now. Thank you everyone for all the congrats and warm wishes on our soon-to-be little boy. Every day David and I grow more excited to meet him. In fact, David won't stop bugging me about wanting to start putting the nursery together. Oh wait, maybe it's the other way around  :)

What a blessing!! I pray we have as successul as a delivery as you and Lane. How is that handsome boy and sweet Liz doing by the way?

  6. Hi Carly! I'm so happy you liked the videos! Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your super nice words... they mean so much! And YES I have watched those little 10 second videos of our boy too many times to count haha! Almost everyday I play them. I am feeling wonderfully and just trying to enjoy each day that I get to carry him because I know it all flies by so fast. I can't believe it's almost March already.. I thought I had like 6 or 7 more months left in this pregnancy! Happy Valentine's to your and your hubby and handsome little boy!! Love, Crystal
