New Ultrasound Pics & Egg Cravings

I might have to magnet these pics to our refridgerator. Our baby actually looks like a human now! You can't see it in these still pics, but while we were watching him move on the ultrasound screen, we could also see his fingers and toes. I didn't count, but it appeared he had enough digits there to count to 20 when he's ready to.
Also, I know some of you have asked whether we know its a boy because I keep saying he and his, but really we have no idea. I guess I just have a mother's hunch it's going to be a boy. Plus, I don't want to call it an 'it'... so I'm going with 'his' and 'he'. Obviously, when we learn the sex, I'll use the proper pronouns. If he does turn out to be a girl, let's just keep it between us that for her first few months of life I assumed she had a you-know-what. We'll keep that little secret from her, along with the facts about Santa, the Toothfairy, and the Easter Bunny.
Anyhoo, these pictures just made my week. I can't believe how fast they grow in there!
This morning I woke up with a craving for eggs. I ate two egg sandwiches for breakfast, had a hard-boiled egg for lunch, and made 8 deviled eggs for dinner tonight. Is that gross? Sounds yummy to me. I'm pretty sure though the thought of eating another egg will make me want to puke tomorrow.
Most of my pants don't fit anymore. I can pull them on, but you couldn't pay me money to button them. It's just not happening. So, I have bought a few pairs of stretchy-waist pants... let me tell you, if I'd known about the comfort of these maternity pants, I would have bought them years ago.
David's napping right now and I think it's a brilliant idea for me to join him. Napping is my favorite extra-curricular activity nowadays. Thanks for reading! Love and hugs!

Made a big mistake in my last post...

Oh boy was I ever wrong! In my last blog, I wrote that the only big change our kiddo has had in the last 2 weeks is that he is now a fetus and not an embryo anymore.... WHOA was I mistaken! David and I had another ultrasound yesterday afternoon and let me just preface this by saying David and I both gasped loudly when our baby popped up on the screen! This little guy now has fingers and toes!! And arms and legs!! And they move!!
I think I accidently said 'holy shit' when I saw the kid move his arms up and down. It was so bewildering! Took me a few seconds before I realized he was doing the robot dance move. So, we already know he inherited mommy's dancing skills.
We have ultrasound pics to show you, I'll try to scan and upload them but I'm not always skilled in the technology dept. May have to wait until David gets home to make sure it's done correctly. Let's hope the kiddo gets daddy's tech skills.
So stay tuned... we have some super cool baby-doing-the-robot-inside-the-uterus pictures to share  LOL

We're 10 weeks along...

Hi everyone! I hope your Thanksgiving was a special and memorable one! Since I've been getting razzed a bit for not updating the blog I figured it was time to write. I don't have much of an update about our little one, except that he's now a fetus. That's right! Our brilliant little ball of multiplying cells has graduated from embryo school and is now a full-blown fetus! We are such proud parents  :)  From what I'm reading, that's the biggest change in the little guy since I last posted. David and I have our next ultrasound on Tuesday. Well hopefully David won't get the ultrasound, just me.
As for Baby Mama, I'm doing great! I'd have to say the biggest preggers symptom I'm feeling is fatigue. I feel like I could take about 4 or 5 naps a day. This will give you an idea of how little energy I have right now... I had plans to do some shopping at Macy's today, but I'm too tired. Too Tired! To Shop! My universe is upside down right now.
And I have to brag about David for a minute because he has been fantastic... On Thanksgiving, he cooked our entire meal so I could relax. He made the turkey, stuffing, potatoes, green beans, gravy... he even braved the grocery store madness on Thanksgiving Day because I was worried we forgot the fruit salad. He bought all the ingredients and made it himself. Best fruit salad ever. Best husband ever. He's also been incredibly understanding with my goofy nutso hormones. Speaking of hormones, David has a funny joke about a hormone, next time you see him, ask him to tell it to you.
That's all for now! Love and hugs!

Happy Black Friday!

Good morning all,
Its been a long time (hint hint crystal) since the blog has been updated. Actually that is good news I guess. Everything is going along as planned so far. Crystal has been busy with stuff around the house, getting ready for the holidays, and she has been working her butt off at her newer job. I think for the most part she is doing very good. Occasionally she will feel a bit ill, but she has NOT gotten sick one time! Yesterday we hosted Thanksgiving over at our house, and the mustard and mayo sandwich never made an appearance. SO.... i think the weird cravings have taken a small break. Although when I was prepping the turkey, the sight of the neck and giblets almost made her get sick. Oh, and my mom told me what giblets are yesterday.......gross. Crystal has her next follow-up/normal appointment on Tuesday, and at that point she will be 10 weeks along. If i had to estimate, the baby will be somewhere between the size of a peanut and walnut. But we should get a new ultrasound pic, so that will be neat to see. Oh, for a lot of you that have seen the pics, make sure you check out the ones that have the explanations on them... I heard a lot of people think the yolk sak was the head, not true.... well, unless crystal is giving birth to humpty dumpty :)
Hope everyone had a great thanksgiving, and I will let crystal know to update this more!

Sorry girl-voters, it's a boy :)

Hola!  Baby Mama here. So I'll just add a little more to David's post from yesterday, which by the way, I'm wild about his diagrams on the Ultrasound pics. Albert, we also had to google 'yolk sac'. Turns out it doesn't just apply to chickens, who knew!
David's right about what it was like to see and hear the heartbeat. When I saw the heart flickering on the screen, I didn't know whether to burst out laughing or cry like a baby. It's so powerful to see that little tiny life working away. He doesn't even have ears yet and I don't think I could be more proud of our tiny little gummy bear (the doctor's name for him). And you may have noticed I'm calling him a him. That's my vote, kids. We're having a boy, and as we all have learned in life, mommies are always right  HA!  Also, the Chinese gender calendar says it's going to be a boy, and I don't argue with ancient Eastern traditions.
As for how Baby Mama is feeling, I'm great. The morning sickness is only a 2 or 3 on a scale of 1-10. Aside from little waves of nausea, I have not felt the sickness. My appetite is keeping David and me entertained. I can't eat the same thing two days in a row... it grosses me out. Plus, I have to dilute everything I drink. Grape juice, diet sprite, anything... I have to mix it with 50% water before I can drink it, or I'll feel nauseated. And where did my love for bread go??  Bizarre!
So, thanks friends for letting us dote over our unborn child, and loving us enough to follow along. Get ready because this is only the beginning of our parenthood obnoxiousness :)  Until next post...

Ultrasound Pics - 8 Weeks

1st appointment - 8 weeks down.

Hi All!

Crystal had her first appointment today. She is 8 weeks in. We got to see the baby and hear the heartbeat as well. Quite amazing. We are not having twins like some (I) thought. The due date is June 25th (give or take). I was born on my due date, and Crystal was late :) so who knows what will happen with our baby. So what we learned today, is the baby is approx. 1.6-1.88cm long. Wow, that is equivalant to penny to dime sized hail... ok so its small. We did also get to see (and hear) the heart beating, which was amazing... 166 beats/min, pretty normal for a [kick ass] little baby as I was told. We have attached our photos from today. I'm excited! Crystal is doing great as well, a little normal pains here and there, but overall, I'd say she is doing awesome. Its still pretty amazing that she has something alive in her.

Okie, I'll stop with the crazy blog thing! We will continue to update as we go on.
