Picnic weather?!

El Nino is my favorite Latino in the world! My hero for bringing this kind of weather to Ohio in February! This...shorts and warm sunshine... did not happen in '13, '14, or '15 before March. We were lucky if the sun shone while temps inched up to high 40s. That was a beautiful outdoor day during those winters! THIS is remarkable and it's happening almost regularly this winter. We'll get one week of brutal cold and snow; the next week temps push 60 (or higher!) and you'd think it's May already. El Nino is welcome here anytime. I don't want to hear about all the bad drama it brings... like severe storms with devastating floods, snowfall or tornadoes... because I don't care. It brings me a freakin shorts day in February.

Happy Belinda came!

It was a fun weekend having B here to see us... the boys played soccer with her, all kinds of games, and Davey showed her his school. She brought with her from Oklahoma some beautiful warm weather and we're thankful!

Our Trip to the North American International Auto Show (aka Detroit Auto Show) 1-23-16

Since we moved to Ohio, it has been a yearly thing that we pack up the car and take a day trip to Detroit for the auto show.   Well, my schedule has changed over the years, and now weekends are the time we can make the auto show.   This year I figured we would sweeten the pot for mommy and got us a hotel room down the street from the Auto show so we didnt have to rush.

Long story short, we had a major snow storm the day before in southern Ohio and I didnt get home from work until 5am.  Few hours of sleep later, and I was ready to relax in the car while Crystal drove up to Detroit :)

So here is the thing about the Auto show... Daddy and the boys LOVE IT.  Crystal could give a flying shit about it.   However, she is an amazing wife and mommy and loves being with her boys, so she happily always comes with us.

I have been told the Detroit Auto show is the best... its close, but its not the Chicago Auto show, especially by size.   What is cool, because you are in Motor City, they go all out on the displays.  I mean all out, basically they are a collection of the coolest car dealerships you have ever seen with some incredible cars, and concept cars.

It was so crazy crowded, we had a rule the boys had to hold hands  (2 kids connected basically equals 1 kid... smart).
This concept car basically was perfect for our kids, it combined the three things they love:  blue, convertible, and a rotating car :)

Again, rotating truck, not blue, but much cooler looking :)

Yup babe.... we are almost 10 years away from this being a thing.

This car seemed more like it ;)  Actually Oaks wanted to get in the backseat of this little Fiat.   Not to dog on Fiats, but 99% of the people looking at this car were under the age of 10.  Maybe in 6-10 years you will have a huge market.   Or if Trump doesn't build a tall enough wall and there is a flood of immigrants from Italy coming in :)   Otherwise, I don't see the Fiat being huge here

This thing was a hit with the kids.   Davey naturally cant take a pic without being a goof.   I love him so much!

Toyota had this (replica) of Kyle Busch's chase victory M & M's car!   Sweet!   The inside looked legit, it just wasn't all banged up as if Kyle really drove it.

And of course downstairs they had motorcycles, which the kids loved.

I would have shot a lot more pictures, but honestly it was crowded, I wanted to keep an eye on my kids, and I wanted to look at/in the cars too.   It was a ton of fun though, and one of my favorite cars was about 171k dollars.   My 2nd favorite was the one I already own in our garage... cost $0 :)

After, we went to dinner, which if I remember correctly, there was some sort of meltdown because Davey was hungry, or tired, or something and he wanted to go swimming.   Oh and they didnt have Mac, and our server was not the best either.   For the record, I had almost no sleep the night before, Crystal had more but not much, and the kids... who knows how they work... ha!

So after we went back to our hotel.   It was a cool old hotel (but updated recently too) that was 92 years old, and the tallest hotel in the world when it was built.   Also, I thought it was very interesting that in 1939 Lou Gehrig collapsed at the hotel, and decided to sit out the game against Detroit that day ending his consecutive games played streak.   Cool history!

We also added to the famed history of this hotel, when Oakley slept in a bed for the entire night!   He shared a queen sized bed with big brother for the night, ending his consecutive sleeping in crib streak too.   So see the Iron Horse and the Temper Tiger both had their streaks ended at this hotel :)

I wonder if I can dress them in matching dinosaur sweaters when they're teenagers...

WATCH: Babe, I have no clue how my phone gets broken...

WATCH: Fireball

This is the boys' rendition of a hit song by Pitbull called "Fireball". They'd just gotten out of the bath, brushed their teeth, and then broke into a little impromptu performance in front of the mirror...
