Exploring the plant museum

Took our monkeys to the Conservatory today for some plant exploration. We three had a pretty great time. ..their fave was definitely the kids' hands-on area. This cute boy's least fave was the cactus plants...he refused to stand close to one for a picture. Silly guy.

Wild child

There aren't many people who wake up with this kind of hair... my son is one of them and he eats breakfast with it like this. He has absolutely no idea how awesome he is.

He's a nut

Big boy is a little sick... his nose wouldn't stop running. It's also clogged. So he was annoyed when he couldn't blow it and stop it from running so we made a nose plug. He's happy and showing his silliest pose for a picture.

WATCH: More scrubbly bubbly fun

WATCH: Hello Daddy! Are you at verk?

So my little man and I were shopping at the mall together and in one of the stores he found a kid's toy phone and started having a ton of fun. He made several calls to Daddy and even send him a text message LOL...

Snowman skills

Oak, Davey and their neighbor buddy Eli are posing with one very superbly sculpted snowman. The boys decorated him yes... but this big Momma rolled, formed and lifted each heavy snowy ball all by myself. It's the first time I found snow enjoyable since Dave took me snow skiing over a year ago. Snow ain't my thing. But I'm pretty proud that my boys love seeing a respectable snowman sitting in their front yard.

WATCH: Brotherly love

So they're usually buds, but they can also bicker like brothers do. Let me set this one up for you... Davey wants his turn to stand on top of the laundry basket and be silly.. That's what Oakley was doing when Davey started counting down the seconds until Oakley had to get off. Then of course, Davey's counting ticked off little brother so little bro gets down to put his hand on big brother's mouth (It's such a kid move to do that, but sometimes I really want to do that exact thing as an adult to other adults but anyway....) So when Oakley gets down, Davey jumps up in his spot. Clever move. But then little brother takes out his annoyance with a retaliation move (one that always gets him punished) by pushing big brother off the laundry basket. Immediately, Oak realizes he chose poorly and tries to make up for it by saying "Sorry Day Day! I'll help you up!" Davey realizes he can milk this with a few croc tears and some pouting and so he does... making little brother more desperate to make reparations for pushing him. So Oakley opens his arms and says "Hey Day, you need a hug?" Big bro mopes more. "Day Day, I give you a hug!" Davey face-plants his tears into the bed. Oakley louder "CAN I GIVE YOU A HUG?!!"

The face says it all

Yes little buddy, that's the official face of January. It plain sucks up here this time of year. It's ok to cry and get pissed that your fingers are numb, and snow is blowing in your face stinging your eyelids, leaving your nose frozen and simultaneously dripping, and chapping your cheeks and lips. So let it out my poor cold little guy...I assure you warm weather will come back. In four or five months you'll be out here barefoot and chasing fireflies. The trees will bloom again!

Decisions decisions

Poor son. My oldest inherited his momma's indecisiveness. He's trying to choose which Superhero fabric he wants to hang in his room. "I just like all of them. I can't decide" he says perplexed. It took about 15 to 20 min but we finally found his very favorite one (the one on the far right).

Reading Dinotrux book

This was us tonight. They both leaned their little heads in and laid on my shoulders while I read. And my heart was full and so grateful.

Catching flakes

It's one of the first significant snows of the season. The boys were excited and they wanted to catch snowflakes in their shovels.

Firefighter dress up

Big bro dressed up little bro and attached all the important fire fighting accessories (minus the camera Oaks is holding). They're gonna spread the word: don't play with matches kiddies.

It's snowing

He spotted it snowing before I did. He got excited and yelled "Snow! It's snowing!" He's wearing brother's scooter helmet for fun because brother is at school and can't complain about it. :)
