Toys r us

Since it was rainy today, Davey declared it was the perfect day to be inside a store buying some stuff with his birthday money. So off we went. The boys took a break from the rigors of toy shopping to play at the Thomas the Train table. They did really well...I have to take some credit...they both picked toys that were on sale and came with a coupon. My little savers.

Nude beach

No it's not really but this dude fell in the water and soaked his clothes. He and his clothes are air drying in the sunshine. Nobody was around to see his goodies. He was really happy to be naked out there.

Soaking up some sun

Michigan can definitely do nice summers, that's for sure. It's hot, but comfortable by the lake, and obviously very pretty.
Oaks is watching brother run down the dock. Big bro is setting the pace around here. It's full speed all the time...."what's next..Let's do this.. I'm gonna do that!" When it's finally dark out...he crashes hard. And so do we! Last night both boys slept all through the night. ..that hasn't happened in weeks I tell ya!

Something 'bout a lake

He won't do this at a swimming pool....jump off the side all by himself with no one there to catch him. But there's just something 'bout a lake I guess that makes this boy feel fearless. He's so excited and confident and (to my wonderment) Big! (What?? How did this happen!) I can't stop smiling.

Look at my two little fishing worms out there in a dinghy. These are memories our boy will have the rest of his life! I could watch them do this all day.

Vacay, here we come!

We're off to our lakeside cabin rental for a few days to celebrate our baby turning five years old! We're loaded up in the car...dog and all! We're still in the garage though.

Taking Grampa to Air Force Museum

Yay! We spent all day here enjoying this amazing place. I'm pretty sure Pop loved it even more than the boys.

Both boys insisted on sitting beside (right up beside) Grampa during dinner. Poor Pop doesn't have a lot of elbow room, but the boys are happy!

Allergy skin testing

Davey Tre went to see an allergy doc last week. We've been noticing his skin reacting to certain stuff, but we didn't know what. He would get itchy rashes and raised bumps and sometimes welts on his legs after playing outside. It didn't happen all the time but enough that we've been concerned. Also, he's been having trouble breathing out of his nose for months at a time. Mainly Fall and Spring. He also has regular sneezing and nighttime coughing so we knew it was time to take him to an allergist doc. Well, at his appointment we learned that he is still seriously allergic to peanuts. We learned that he is allergic to the grass in our yard: Kentucky Blue Grass. We learned he is allergic to 5 different kinds of tree pollen in Ohio. He is allergic to 6 different kinds of grass and weeds. He is allergic to dog and cat dander. He is allergic to dust mites. We also learned he is no longer allergic to eggs, so that's one piece of good news. Willow is part of the problem so she has to go... we're putting her down tomorrow. Only kidding! We're keeping her- dirty dog dander and all. We're just going to take a few more steps to keep Davey away from her and her dander out of the air circulating through the house. The doc started Davey on Claritin once a day and a nasal spray once a day, which is already showing significant improvements! I'm soo pleased with how the meds are working. Monkey even admits he feels better. He was such a BIG BOY during the skin testing! The kid was remarkably brave and tough!

We're at the Sunbury library. We're checking out a Batman book and playing with the toys. It's an indoor day since it's been raining.

So a couple of cute things in this video: 1) You can hear how Oakley says the word 'bubbles'.  He pronounces them BUSS-OHS. And 2) He decides proudly that drinking his soapy bathwater "tastes good". Yuck, but adorable :)

Hide and seek

The boys and I played hide and seek in the backyard and as you can see, if you look closely, Monkey got creative. He crawled into a big bush plant thing. But baby brother wasn't fooled.

Higher!

We're swinging at the park on a chilly June morning. A cold front took us into the 40s for a few nights but now it's warming up again. Jackets and pants for the start of the week....but we'll be in swimsuits tomorrow morning at the pool.

It's been a fun productive day at the house. We've cleaned and played and the boys built this alphabetically correct skyscraper tower.
