Footsie pajamas!

Davey is wearing his outer space footsie pajamas to school. I know what you're probably thinking. ..I must've run late and forgot to change his clothes. Not this time. Actually it was pancake/pajama day at his school. All the kids and teachers wear jammies all day. He was very excited about it and planned to eat as many pancakes with syrup as he could...which turned out to be two. That's baby brother in the pic wearing matching pjs.

Texas Trip Pictures

I have 400 pictures of our Texas trip...sometimes I go a little nuts. I had a hard time narrowing them down to post just a couple dozen for the blog. Here are some of our vacation highlights...

We haven't left the tarmac in Ohio and the boys think they see Grampa's house.
Davey is sitting with his Great Grandfather "PaPa Weed". He got to see his Great Uncle Butch too,.
Riding in PaPa Weed's pickup around his ranch looking for deer.
Both boys want their Grampa to hold them.
Our good friends Adam and Amanda and their kiddos drove down to see us and
we got to hang with them at the beach.

We travel heavy

I've begun going through our vacation pics and I'm close to posting them on the blog but it's gonna be another day or two since I have very little to no time to sit at the computer while not paying attention to a one-year old and a four-year old. But here's the last pic of our entire journey to Texas...Davey is standing next to a cart holding all our checked luggage. There are golf clubs, two big rolling suitcases, a big red bag with two car seats inside, a giant box with a travel crib inside, a smaller suitcase and an over the shoulder bag. That's everything we had to check. We still had to carry on a big backpack, Davey's backpack, Big Dave's backpack, and four coats.

Amazing trip

Sadly our trip ends today...but it has been so fun and so full of smiles and happy moments that I am not going to let myself feel down. We are going back to Ohio with tons of great memories and precious time shared with family and friends. I am so thankful to Pop for making this trip happen for us! The last couple of days here the boys have enjoyed their NiNi...and turned her house into their personal play headquarters. Davey also turned his "Unkie Ty" into a human jungle gym. It has been so wonderful seeing so many people we miss living close to. I have lots of pics to post from the past nine days so I'll blog them in a few days after I unpack.

Lots of fun with Grandpa

We've missed a few days of blogs because we're busy busy...having a heap of fun with family! Lordy its been too long since we've been here! Davey is hardly letting his Grandpa out of his sight. They've had several big adventures together including operating a tractor and touring the USS Lexington. We are soaking up every single second we have here with my Pop, my Gram and Grampa, Aunt Kathy and friends!

Dr. Davey M.D.

Davey in school on Wednesday made a little paper doctor kit.   He went around the house fixing everyone from illness and boo boos.  Then, I get a call at work from Davey, "daddy i want to go to medical school and be a doctor.  Can you and mommy pay for medical school?"  Ever since Davey has been checking us for problems and even following up, and without charging us :)
So, because his old paper medical bag he built in school was in rough shape, we decided to give Davey a little upgrade.
He has checked out Mommy, Daddy, and now brofer this morning, including put5ing new band-aids on us.   Oak isnt the best patient ever, but he did let Dr. Davey check him today.
Medical school I'm sure cost a lot, but it would be nice to have a doctor in the family ;)

My little snow cub

This sweet smiley face could melt a snow drift. My little Oakman enjoyed the snow for a good while but he was the first of us three to want to go back inside.

Serious shoveling face

Whoever said shoveling snow is fun....never shoveled snow.

Another snow day

The boys are bundled up and walking out of the garage onto the snowy driveway. Schools were cancelled for the snow and we're staying home. So we're going to throw a few snowballs. The boys have three layers of clothes on and snow boots...they're ready. I don't have waterproof gloves for Oakley so he's wearing four pairs of socks on his hands...and it works! His little hands were dry and warm when we came back inside.

Back to school

He's been looking forward to this day since school let out for Christmas break. It's his first day back and he's wearing his new Spider-Man shoes and new Captain America shirt and he's so happy.

Black eyed peas...yum

I made the boys (including hubs) eat black eyed peas for dinner tonight. Its a New Years tradition they're not happy about but they obliged me...minimally. Oak took a few bites and spit out most of it. Davey did better...after avoiding the beans on his plate for all of dinner he finally took four bites (negotiated down from five). And big Dave ate a few bites before literally spelling out that he didn't like the b-e-a-n-s. They'll thank me when their year turns out to be full of good fortune and prosperity.
