1pm update water down!
Close to 6cm...water broke...I saw it myself! Crystal feelin great pretty relaxed. Looks like the break may speed up process. D3 just relaxin. Crystal is resting a little more.
11am update
Not a whole lot to report of...I think. Epidural has been in, crystal is resting. Comfortably I think and the little guy appears to be resting too. Contractions seem regular, then again what do I know...I forecast weather for a living not babies. As far as I'm concerned everything has gone great. Crystal had a few tiny tears from epidural (which I'm sure I spelled wrong), but that is toko be expected. Its quite amazing how calm crystal is handling this so far. She has been great. Ok so the nurse said crystal is now 5cm! Nice
8:00am update
Hello...ok that was from Crystal. That's all she wanted to type because of contractions. Oops first f-bomb just dropped with a giggle. I grabbed her knee during a contraction. Crystal hates the knee grabs...but she forgot about the contraction. So crystal is @ 4cm. And just waiting for the anasteologist (sp?). Things are going great so far!

Tomorrow is the big day!
So it's the night before we check into the hospital and get this labor rollin. I've felt awesome all day... cleaned house, packed a few more things in our bags, and gave alot of thought to where we would eat dinner tonight. It's the big decision of the day. After I get to the hospital tomorrow morning I can't eat until D3 pops out and since that could be HOURS.. this dinner tonight has got to be good. Hot wings sounded awesome but David reminded me that that could make tomorrow's fun all the more messy. After a long back-and-forth, we decided some home-cookin' from Cracker Barrel fit the bill. So I'm finishing a few house chores, David just mowed the front lawn, and soon we'll be off to the Barrel for some good food that we don't have to cook or clean up after. Perfect!
We are both so looking forward to tomorrow. We can't stop talking about this little guy. I think what will be even greater excitement for us is when the three us get to return home together. We may be staring at our boy not knowing what we're supposed to do next... but we just want him healthy happy and home with us.

David Mazza III arrives this week!!
Hello all.. I have super exciting news to share. David and I saw the doctor this afternoon and it looks like I'm 3 cm dilated and little D3 is down low and ready to come out. The only small issue is that my blood pressure is creeping a little higher. The doc says that's good reason to initiate labor this week, rather than continuing to wait. So our doctor has set a time for us to check into the hospital and begin inducing labor. We are so ready to meet little D3 and knowing that he'll be here this week is just awesome. Plus, I can make sure my legs are shaved for the occasion ;)
If you're wondering WHEN this is happening... we are happy to let our family and close friends know in a more private way. So text us or call or ask us when you see us... we would love to give you the details that way. Maybe because I've been in the TV news biz for 6 years, I'm a little overly guarded. I've learned there are "crazies" out there, and even more "borderline crazies". And I would prefer they all stay away from the hospital while we're there. Big Momma might get a little physical if some wierdo shows up to meet our newborn son. So we won't announce the location or time on facebook, but we will continue to share the news of D3's arrival through this blog and through text messages. Thanks for understanding...

Feeling great!
Looks like our adorable, and stubborn, little boy wants to prove Mommy and her doctor wrong. It's now 2 days past when our doctor predicted he would be here and about a week past when I though he would be here. And on top of that.... I feel great! Little to no contractions the last couple of days, just feeling some discomfort moving around and a little lower back pain. All-in-all, he is showing very few signs that he's ready to come out soon. Our next doctor's appt is Monday afternoon... we'll see whether there has been any dilation progress, which I doubt. Also, we'll talk to our doctor about the possibility of inducing. Last appt, he suggested we could induce this coming week, but we decided to wait and see whether Davey would start his exit on his own. So there we are. We'll fill you more after Monday's doc appt. Hope you're having a great weekend!

"The waiting is the hardest part" -Tom Petty
Well, little Davey is apparently quite happy with Mommy's uterus. Doctor said last week he would likely arrive by now. So we're close but no cigar, or baby. David and I went to see the doc again yesterday for our scheduled appt. Doc says everything looks great. Baby's heartbeat sounds wonderful and strong. I'm 2.5 cm dialated and 70% effaced. So there's been some progression but not much. Doc says labor could begin any day now. I feel lots of contractions and cramps and all that fun pregnant stuff, but it looks like the wait continues... He's just trying to make a grand entrance, or he wanted to let his Daddy play golf today. Either way, we're excited for him to arrive, and of course, we'll keep you posted. hugs!

38 weeks now...
Happy Sunday everybody. Not much to fill you in on today except that we're still waiting. Lately, I have not felt any signs that Davey's ready to come out anytime soon. I don't know... he seems to be pretty content in there. The B-H contractions have been minimal. Last week, the doc predicted Davey would arrive by this coming Friday but I wouldn't bet on it. I'm just feeling too good lately... little backaches here and there but nothing to suggest labor is just around the corner. Mom and I even walked and shopped for hours yesterday and this morning I feel great. Our next doc appt is on Tuesday so we'll let you know. Hugs!

"Four to ten days"
Hola! We had a doctor's appt yesterday and learned some big news... looks like our son wants to beat the countdown clock. Doctor says little Davey will easlily be here before his due date, which is around June 25. In fact, after checking my cervix, Doc said "I'll give it four to ten days." I'm dialated 2 cm and 60% effaced. David was pretty floored by the news. He kept thinking D3 would follow in his footsteps and be born exactly on his due date. So now, David's asking me to just hold off labor until after his golf game on Wednesday.
For the last few weeks, since we finished the baby's room, we go in there and just sit and talk about him. I like to go in there and rock in the rocker while looking around and picturing our son using all the goodies. We are SO ready to meet Davey. And apparently, he's ready to meet all of us. So we'll keep you all updated! Our next doc appt is next Tuesday... if we make until then...

WE'VE HIT THE HOMESTRETCH....
Hello! So sorry that it's been... um... about 2 months since we've updated our baby blog. But we're back now to keep you in-the-know about the homestretch of our pregnancy and little Davey's arrival. If you haven't seen me recently, I'm huge. I'm a mobile home.. a moving house. David likes to kid me saying our son will weigh 12 pounds when he comes out. I don't laugh when he says that, ha ha. But seriously this part of the pregnancy has been so exciting and fun... majorly uncomfortable... but still very, very enjoyable. Davey is much more consistant when he moves, kicks, rolls and responds to us.
As of right now, we are about 3 days away from being 37 weeks, according to our doctor whom we saw yesterday. He says we now have a full-term baby and he wouldn't be worried if we went into labor anytime.
More good news... Davey is head down. His little butt is battling for space with my right ribs, which causes me constant pain on that side; but hey, I'm thrilled Davey is ready to come out in the perfect position. He's a smart kid, what can I say. He's grown so big that David can now hear his heartbeat just by putting his ear against my stomach. This was super exciting when we discovered this.
About 2 weeks ago, David and I spent an afternoon in the hospital. That morning at work, I was having lots of contractions and cramping so I went to the doctor... they realized I was dialated one cm. They hooked me up to the fetal monitor, and discovered I was having regular strong contractions. So, they sent me straight to Labor and Delivery. At this point, I couldn't talk...I could not stop crying... a bit of a nutty prego. I knew I was about to deliver our boy and all I kept thinking was little Davey wasn't ready, my hubby wasn't there, and our bags weren't packed. Hormonal meltdown! I'm pretty sure the nurses and hospital staff took notes on me that day. I won't be surprised if they roll their eyes next time I walk back through those doors, like Elaine in Seinfeld. But seriously, they were wonderful... gave me 2 bags of IV fluid, 2 shots of something to stop the contractions, and made me drink a trough of water to re-hydrate me. Apparently, drinking only juice and lattes in the morning can leave pregnant women short on healthy fluids. Baffling huh! So, I got a lecture on drinking TONS more water, and we got to go home. Actually, David and I went straight to Demo's Greek Food and had double gyros to celebrate the relief of not delivering early.
So, we promise to do a better job keeping our blog updated during these last few weeks. Thanks for reading!
